The quality of T-slot track installation directly determines its subsequent accuracy and lifespan. Standard specifications and installation direction are crucial for ensuring its positioning accuracy and load-bearing safety.
Main materials used are gray cast iron (HT250/HT300) or ductile iron (QT500-7/QT600-3), the latter boasting tensile strengths of over 500MPa and 600MPa respectively. Heat treatment employs a thermal aging process, slowly and uniformly heating the track casting from room temperature to approximately 550℃, holding at that temperature for 4-8 hours, and then strictly controlling the cooling rate to below 150℃ before removal from the furnace. Some tracks require double aging treatment before leaving the factory to remove internal stress.
In the initial installation phase, it is essential to ensure the concrete strength of the ground base is not less than C30, the base layer thickness is ≥200mm, and it is reinforced with a steel mesh. The flatness error must be controlled to ≤0.1mm/m. The core laying process requires the use of a total station to lay out the lines according to the design drawings, with a positioning error ≤ ±1mm. A level is then used for multi-stage leveling to ensure that the horizontal error of a single track is ≤ 0.03mm/m and the parallelism error of multiple tracks is ≤ 0.05mm/m. During splicing, the gap between adjacent tracks must be controlled to ≤ 0.03mm, and a 2-3mm expansion joint should be left, filled with elastic sealant to release stress. Reinforcing plates are often added at the splicing points, and high-strength bolts are tightened diagonally, with a torque requirement of 150-220 N·m.
Single-groove tracks are often leveled using tools such as strip bridges and leveling instruments, while double-groove tracks are leveled using instruments such as total stations and levels. Ordinary tracks are commonly fixed with M8 iron expansion bolts or nails, while heavy-duty tracks are fixed with larger bolts or pre-embedded bolts. Reinforcing plates are added to the splicing points of standard-length tracks, and high-strength bolts are used for fastening. Extra-long tracks may require additional locating pins.
Routine maintenance requires regular cleaning of the rail surface and T-slots, monthly application of grease to the T-slots and mating parts, and quarterly precision testing and repair. The main causes of rail deformation include material defects, uneven load, temperature changes, and improper installation. Corresponding preventative measures include optimized material selection, proper load design, controlled ambient temperature, and standardized installation procedures. The normal service life of T-slot rails is typically 10-20 years, depending on material quality, operating conditions, and maintenance levels.
